Proline Electrical Works · EV charging, pan-India

EV charger installation, from site survey to first charge.

We survey the site, then install and commission AC and DC chargers for charge point operators, EV brands, businesses and homes across India. We also supply chargers, DB boxes and batteries.

How an installation works

  1. 01 · Site survey (recce)

We check the site before we quote.

Available load, meter position, cable route, earthing and the parking layout, measured on site so the quotation is accurate.

    • Load check
    • Cable route
    • Earthing
    • Bay layout
  2. 02 · Installation

Cable laid, DB box fitted, charger mounted.

We fit a distribution box with the right MCB, RCCB and surge protection, lay the cable along a safe route and mount the charger on a wall or pedestal.

  3. 03 · Commissioning

Tested before the first car arrives.

Earthing and protection checks, charger configuration, connection to your app or OCPP platform, then a test charge and handover.

Earnings calculator

How much could a charging station at your site earn?

Pick a charger, then set how busy it will be and what you charge. The estimate updates as you change anything.

Charger type
3 h · 13% of the day

Location decides how busy a charger gets. Public chargers in India are in use only between 1% and 5% of the day on average, so start low and adjust.

₹20.00

Public AC charging usually costs drivers ₹10–18 a unit and DC fast charging ₹18–30.

₹7.00

Use your electricity board's EV tariff. It varies by state; Karnataka's, for example, is ₹4.50 a unit.

Advanced settings

Cars rarely draw a charger's full rating for a whole session.

How this is worked out

Energy sold = chargers × average kW × hours a day × 30 days. Revenue = energy × your price. Electricity = energy ÷ charger efficiency (94% for DC, 97% for AC) × your tariff. Profit = revenue − electricity − commission − other monthly costs. Payback = upfront cost ÷ monthly profit. GST and income tax are left out.

Questions

Before you install.

How much does it cost to set up an EV charging station?

It depends on the charger and on the site. A 7.4 kW AC charger on an existing connection is a small job. DC fast chargers cost more and often need a higher load or a new connection. Use the earnings calculator for a first estimate; we give an exact quotation after the site survey.

AC or DC charger: which one do I need?

AC chargers (3.3 to 22 kW) suit places where cars stay parked for hours: homes, offices, hotels and housing societies. DC fast chargers (30 kW and above) suit highways, malls, fuel stations and fleets, where drivers want a quick top-up.

Can you install a charger I have already bought?

Usually, yes. Send us the brand, the model and a few photos of the site, and we'll confirm what the installation needs.

Do I need a separate electricity connection?

Not always. A home AC charger can often run on your existing connection if the sanctioned load allows it. Commercial stations usually need a load increase or a separate EV connection from your electricity board. The site survey tells you which applies.

What happens during a site survey (recce)?

We check the available load, meter and panel position, cable route and length, earthing and the parking layout. You then get our findings and a quotation.

Do you work outside my city?

Yes. We take installation and commissioning projects across India.
